There is a known Windows 7 bug that you may run in to when attempting to remotely connect to your desktop computer. After you type in your password, you may see a screen that is completely black except for the following dialog box:
If you click OK, the screen will go completely black and you won’t be able to do anything but close the remote session window. To get around this, do the following when the above dialog box appears:
1) Press CTRL-ALT-END to bring up the Windows security options screen
2) Choose the “Start Task Manager” option
Your desktop will appear with Task Manager window open. You can close Task Manager and continue normally.
